Questions
Homeowner questions
How do I know if my AC needs repair or replacing?
A technician has to look at it, because age and symptoms alone do not settle it. Repair usually makes sense for a single failed part. Replacement comes up when repairs keep repeating or the unit is far past its expected life. We explain both options before any work starts.
What should I do if my AC stops cooling?
Check that the thermostat is set to cool and that the breaker has not tripped, then replace a dirty filter. If it still will not cool, turn the system off and book a service call. Running a struggling unit can make the problem worse.
How often should a heating and cooling system be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend a tune-up once a year. Many homeowners book cooling in spring and heating in fall, and a maintenance plan sets this up so you do not have to remember.
Do you charge for estimates?
That depends on the company and the job. Northfork is a demo with no real prices, so this answer is a stand-in: a real company would state its own estimate policy here.
